I switched during Beta 2. I just don't like extensions aren't compatible yet, and the tabs have their own close button which is annoying, a waste of space, and they make me scroll instead of shrinking like before.

I too switched earlier during 2b2. I was a little upset that my plugins (read: the one I used, FireFTP) was usable in 2.0 b2, but not in 2.0 rc1.

Also, each tab had their own close button in 2.0b1 & b2, didn't they? Oh well. I hated it at first but it grew on me. I find myself using the keyboard to navigate my tabs more and more.

CTRL+Tab = switch forward
CTRL+Shift+Tab = switch backwards
CTRL+W = close a tab

Firefox goodness.

I also switched during Beta 2 - it does take a while to get used to closing each tab, but there are so many good new things - being able to move tabs around, the spell checker, re-opening closed sessions, and so forth... I'm also using FF2 in portable format at work, since the XP desktop is locked down here...

Ian, good point. Ff2 has a lot of great features over 1.5. I haven't used it in the portable format yet, but have it on my USB key just in case :)

I really like the improvements they've made with XML feeds. By clicking the icon in the address bar, you don't automatically have to add a Live Bookmark any longer (a feature I never did like). It actually displays the feed in your browser, and allows for easy copying of the address for transferring to your feed reader of choice.

Also, since I'm still working on a Win98 machine, it tends to crash a lot and Ff2's new Restore Session feature is great. Also, with the new tab format they've introduced a Restore Recently Closed Tabs feature (accessible via the History menu).

Firefox goodness :D

I like the XML feed improvement too.
I had Session Saver before as an extension. I can't find an extension to Focus Last Selected Tab. I don't like tabs disapearing in a sideways scroll. I've always used middle button to close tabs, so the new X does nothing good for me, and the loss of the side X is a big loss.

Saskboy, do you use the scroll wheel on your mouse to scroll through your tabs?

I find myself much more productive in the tabbed environment when I let my keyboard and scroll wheel do all the work. Since they've decided to scroll the tabs I can have many more tabs open and actually be able to know what they are.

This is really good especially when I get lost on Wikipedia and can easily have 40+ tabs open. In 1.x all I was able to see was the 'favicon'. That drove me ballistic quite often.

I do use the scroll wheel, and have trained myself which way is which. But any scrolling slows me a lot since I use VNC quite a bit, and loading scrolling takes seconds. And there's disorientation when scrolling live, when there isn't if I can rmember which tiny tab is where in the long line of 40 tabs.
