Marc-Andre Bergeron was the star of the game on Monday --- for the Carolina Hurricanes. He made two massively bad decisions that could cost the Oilers their first Stanley Cup in more than fifteen years. His first bright moment was a complete failure to back up his defense partner, which allowed Justin Williams to streak out on a breakaway and take the lead in the game.
His second absolutely brilliant decision was to forced Carolina's Andrew Ladd into Dwayne Roloson, knocking him out of the playoffs. With Roloson out, MacTavish had no option but to put in one of his back-ups (neither of which should be in the NHL). He went with Ty Conklin, which appears to be the biggest mistake of the night.
For all but eliminating the Oilers chances at the Cup, Conklin and Bergeron must be the two most hated guys in Edmonton.

I agree 110% with everything you just said..
I just couldnt imagine the guilt that both of those guys must be feeling. Its evident in the fact that Conklin wasnt the starting goalie tonite.
The Oilers played extremely poorly tonite. I didnt even want to watch anymore after halfway through the second period.
I'm very surprised that the Oilers won tonight... it's a good, but shocking, turn of events.
I guess we've got a series on our hands. Who'd have thought?
Whoa there!! don't put your horse's mouth in a giftbox just yet..... well you know how the saying goes. You gotta remember that Carolina took out the best team in the league (Buffalo), so they are destined to defeat Edmonton. The planets and stars are aligned now, unfortunately not in Edmonton's favour.
Well it appears as though I was correct the first time around. 3 - 1 going back to Carolina, scary news for anyone who's sufficiently jumped on the Oilers bandwagon. n, looks like you were right budday!
facking rights i am!!
uh-oh...... Game 7 was not supposed to happen.....
Shit. Good! But shit.
