Lions Win

Paul McCallum went 6 for 6, tying a CFL record for most made field goals in a Grey Cup, on route to a Lions a 25 - 12 win in the 94th Grey Cup. It's too bad he couldn't even hit a 18 yard chip shot for the green & white. He was actually voted the CBC Warrior of the Game. Bah!

All in all, I'm a little relieved that the Lions were able to outplay the Alouettes and take home the Cup. I don't know how well I would've have taken it if the team that blew us out in the Western Final was upset by a lowly team from the East.

I still can't believe that the Lions broke the top off the Grey Cup. They better fix it in time to give it to us next year. Because... there's always next year.

I thought I saw the top of the cup only, when did it break I missed that doing laundry at the end.

Well, I missed it because it was on mute. But they brought the cup out in one piece, then when they were talking to either Dickenson or McCallum, they were placing only the top of it on his shoulder.

Also, one of the CBC announcers said "the Lions broke the cup in half during their celebration."

Mostly I don't bother with the CFL, but I must say the whippin' we laid on the Riders was far more fun to watch than what passed for a championchip game yesterday.

If they keep the team together, I don't think they'll be giving it to anybody next year.

Now if only the Canucks could get going.

Ouch. But I have to agree. The Grey Cup game wasn't overly fun to watch.
