I foresee this bio as having absolutely no use to anyone, including myself. That being said, the website does need some more content.

My name is Stephen Glauser and I was born on September 11, 1983 (that makes me 24!) in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. I grew up in various places in Saskatchewan, which is a mistake that I can really blame noone for — you can’t pick where you’re born. I’m not too sure where exactly I would prefer to have been born, I just know it is somewhere other than Saskatchewan.

Coming up through high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do with life until one fateful September day in 2002. This was the day I discovered a little Japanese toy called the Bit Char-G. My best friend Steve and I had decided to order a couple of these little remote controlled cars off of the internet, and as soon as we received them, the answer to our dreams were obvious. By this time I had just turned 19 years old and was living in Regina — the capital city of Saskatchewan — and really had no direction, no dreams of university or whatever.

Upon receipt of our toys, our friends’ interests were immediately piqued. Requests for information on how to purchase them came from everywhere. Steve was about three weeks away from turning 18, and was still attending high school — the same school I just finished up at. So, we decided to take a trip to school with our new found toys, and the interest we found with our friends held true in the high school as well. So, we put together a crude business plan and handed it to Steve’s dad, a very prominent veterinarian.

He looked it over, and I’m sure he never read it very carefully, because he handed us a money order for $10,000 the next day. Sweet. So we were off and running, started up a company opened up the bank accounts and all that fun stuff. Got business cards printed and put up a website. At the time I was a member of one of the largest forums on the internet, and had been at the site since day one, so, as ashamed as I am to admit it, I pulled a little weight.

Once our website was good to go with an eStore and all that jazz, I posted up on that forum a notice, and we had our first order within 3 minutes. Holy shit! The first month was unbelievable. We sold out of all of our inventory, and had to put in a couple of rush orders from Hong Kong. Then we found out about a car show in Toronto called Import Fest, and decided we wanted to attend. We called the appropriate people and got the run around a few times, saying they were full, etc. Then we called the founder of the show, and he asked us what product we wanted to showcase. He said he would find us a spot - this was some time early in November 2002… the show was December 5, 2002.

On December 1, we got a call from Import Fest, saying they had a booth. The next five days were probably the busiest of my life getting organized for this show.

I’m already blabbering, so I’ll make the story short - we were the hit of the show. By far the most popular, and the small cash box we brought to hold all of our takings was far from adequate… we both had cargo pants on that were bulging with cash. Leaving the Air Canada Centre after midnight was petrifying. Two kids from Regina with $20,000+ cash in our pockets walking in downtown Toronto at 2:00am was absolutely horrifying, but we got through it alright.

I’m out of time writing the above for now, but it will be finished later!
