Power
The site is (and always has been) hosted by Cup of Noodles. Matt has been really good to me. Too bad he isn't accepting new customers right now. He needs to get his act togetherI've been using Movable Type to power my blogs since October 2003. I'm currently using version 4.15b5-en. I tried WordPress for about a week back in April but couldn't get into it. Movable Type rocks.
Design
As always, the theme is a custom work by me, loosely based on the default Movable Type theme. Very loosely. For the first time I decided to design with web standards in mind, and as a result the entire site is fully XHTML 1.1 and CSS validated. All designers should try and achieve this, it makes the web more usable by all.
Syndication
If you use a feed reader (I use Mozailla Thunderbird and Google Reader) all of the entries on my website are available via both RSS and Atom feeds.
Statistics
I keep track you (read: visitors) via three services. Site Meter allows me to quickly check out basic stats without logging in. Measure Map provides great blog-specific data, and Google Analytics provides me with all the general data I could ever wish for. And then some.
Credits
I've drawn inspiration for this design from a number of places, and owe some credit to various people:- badboy media.design: All of the forms on this site have been beautified by using pieces of their Niceforms. Big thanks.
- Icon-King: I've used some of David Vignoni's Nuvola icons throughout my site. Another huge thanks.
- Wu Wei: James' very well designed website inspired two areas of my website: navigation design and the page footers.
- Man Bytes Hollywood: This page right here!
Browser
Unfortunately, Internet Explorer 6 sucks and isn't all the way web standards compliant. Every Windows user should be browsing with Firefox. At the very least, upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 which does a better job of using web standards.I don't support Internet Explorer 6 and some parts of my website may not work correctly with it. IE6 sucks.
